Donate Your Junque to a Great Local Cause

The MV Big Flea is a HUGE flea market fundraiser on April 30, 2011. The event benefits the Mount Vernon Community School PTA located in the Del Ray section of Alexandria, Virginia. We are seeking donations of items for the event. All donations are tax deductible and all proceeds benefit the school’s important PTA programs.

This Week: Diapers for Homeless Families in Transition

Disposable diapers are expensive. An adequate supply of disposable diapers can cost between $100 and $120 a month, and safety net programs do not cover their cost. For a family struggling with homelessness, the cost of diapers can seem insurmountable. Community Lodgings and organization that helps homeless families become self-sufficient is, in desperate need of disposable diapers for children living in transitional housing and attending their Family Learning Center.

Urgent Need for Pedialyte to Prevent Infant Dehydration

The Arlandria Health Center for Pediatrics, managed by Alexandria Neighborhood Health Services, often gives children who are ill with diarrhea and/or vomiting pediatric electrolyte solution, such as Pedialyte™, to prevent dehydration. However, their supplies are running low. The Center needs 160 single servings of Pedialyte™ or it's equivalent to treat infants and young children.
