It’s nearly time for our biggest fundraiser of the year– The MV Big Flea!   And we need to round up volunteers to help out with donations.  We have 3 opportunities to volunteer:

Disposable diapers are expensive. An adequate supply of disposable diapers can cost between $100 and $120 a month, and safety net programs do not cover their cost. For a family struggling with homelessness, the cost of diapers can seem insurmountable. Community Lodgings and organization that helps homeless families become self-sufficient is, in desperate need of disposable diapers for children living in transitional housing and attending their Family Learning Center.

According to Feeding America, hunger is a reality for 1 in 6 Americans and Alexandria is no different.  Relying on volunteers and donations, ALIVE! (ALexandriansInVolved Ecumenically) works to combat hunger in Alexandria every day. This week, help ALIVE! by dropping off nonperishable, protein-rich food items for distribution to families in need.
