Local animal rescue King Street Cats (KSC) is doing its bit to help the four-legged victims of Hurricane Sandy. In partnership with Best Friends Animal Society, America’s largest animal sanctuary, KSC is helping a shelter in Philippi, West Virginia get back on its feet, after it lost power and water, and was damaged heavily during the snow that deluged the area during the Hurricane.
KSC took its first transport of supplies of food, beds, and blankets to the shelter on November 12 and brought back six cats that need to find homes. Another transport is scheduled for after Thanksgiving.
KSC is asking people to bring donations of cat food and blankets to its facility at 25 Dove Street, Alexandria, VA 22314, on weekday mornings from 8am-11am and on Sat/Sun from 1:30pm-4:30pm.
If you are interested in adopting one of the Hurricane Sandy cats, please email KSC at: [email protected]
