Alexandria NAACP seeks nominations for Community Service Awards
Each year at our Life Membership and Awards Banquet, the Alexandria Branch of the NAACP recognizes the wonderful volunteer work of individuals and organizations in the Alexandria community. This year, our event will take place on Sunday, October 16th at the Mark Center Hilton, and we would like to solicit your help in recognizing those whose community service has had a positive effect on members of our community. If you are interested in nominating someone, please email [email protected] to recieve the nomination packet.
Feel free to nominate an individual or organization doing great work! Our deadline for submissions is Oct. 1st.

A few weeks ago, a small group of "civic hackers" met in a conference room at ForumOne Communications in Alexandria to discuss what kind of applications they should build as a part of the Northern Virginia Brigade of Code for America.
