It's back to school week at Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS), and you can help teachers and students get the best start to the school year possible during the Back to School Blitz! Your support will go towards field trips, art supplies and science equipment, all to enrich the learning experience of students in our schools. 

Join ACTion for Just Play! an evening of games, books and fun, family time on Monday, August 3 from 5-7pm at William Ramsay Recreation Center. Local nonprofits will be on hand to host play activities and provide information on their programs.

Jefferson-Houston School, Mount Vernon Community School PTA,  and Cora Kelly School in partnership with UpCycle Creative Reuse Center, were recognized at this year's Alexandria Earth Day Celebration as the winners of the ACTion Alexandria Green Ideas Challenge.  Through this community competition, these schools will receive funding to turn their ideas into reality. A total of $5,000 will be awarded for these projects thanks to a grant from the Dominion Foundation.
