Mattie Miracle Cancer Walk
Event Date
Event Location
On May 22, 2011, the Mattie Miracle Cancer Foundation will be hosting its annual Pediatric Cancer Walk. Historically 500 or more attendees come to the Walk each year and learn more about pediatric cancer as well as help us generate funds for the psychological and emotional support services we offer children and their families. The theme for this year's Walk is FACES OF HOPE.
Register online May 20 before midnight.
Mattie Miracle Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity founded in the loving memory of Mattie Brown, a seven year old, who courageously battled Osteosarcoma. The Foundation builds public awareness of pediatric cancers and addresses the psychosocial needs of children and their families.
All walk proceeds will go directly to hiring a childlife specialist at Georgetown University Hospital, dedicated to assisting children and families on stressful and anxiety provoking scan and procedure days.
