Over the past couple weeks, ACTion Alexandria has been working with The City of Alexandria, Samuel Tucker Elementary School, Community Lodgings, Bienvenidos, and Wright to Read to collect new and gently worn desks for children at Brent Place Apartments for a project called My Homework Space.

The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) says that finding a specific location in the home where children can study helps make homework time more successful and more consistent. Many children living in Brent Place Apartments (located in Alexandria's West End) do not have a place to study in their apartments.
